James Thibodeau of Clarkston, MI, Passes Away at 28

It is with profound sadness that the community of Clarkston, Michigan, announces the passing of James Robert “Jim” Thibodeau at the age of 28. A devoted son, brother, and friend, Jim passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Cherished Family and Friends
James Thibodeau was the beloved son of Robert and Karen Thibodeau and a caring brother to Mikayla (James) Smith, Thomas Thibodeau, Kateri Thibodeau, Joe Thibodeau, Kathleen Thibodeau, and Tim Thibodeau. He was the adored grandson of Ruth Ann Thibodeau and Jim and Kathleen Taube and will be dearly missed by his extended family, including numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and cherished family friends, Duncan Whitney and others.
Jim is now reunited with his late grandfather, Robert Thibodeau, and close family friend, Newell Whitney, in eternal peace.
A Life Rooted in Faith and Excellence
A proud alumnus of Everest Collegiate High School & Academy, James graduated in 2015, leaving a lasting impression on his classmates and teachers. He went on to pursue higher education at Oakland University, earning a degree in mechanical engineering.
Known for his strong work ethic and determination, Jim’s academic and professional accomplishments were a testament to his dedication to excellence.
Passions and Talents That Shaped His Life
Jim had a zest for life and a wide array of interests. An avid outdoorsman, he found joy in fishing and the camaraderie of playing ice hockey, soccer, basketball, and disc golf. His love for country music often set the tone for cherished family moments.
He also had a remarkable talent for cooking and baking, delighting his family with his culinary creations and turning ordinary meals into extraordinary memories.
Visitation and Funeral Arrangements
The Thibodeau family invites friends and loved ones to honor Jim’s life during visitation and funeral services:
- Visitation: Friday, January 17, 2025, at the Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home in Clarkston. A Rosary service will begin at 5:00 PM, followed by public visitation from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM.
- Funeral Mass: Saturday, January 18, 2025, at St. Daniel Catholic Church in Clarkston. Visitation will begin at 11:30 AM, with the Mass scheduled at 12:00 noon.
